For the eleventh year, Montréal is hosting the Women’s Cycling World Cup. On May 31 2008 it will welcome the international elite of women’s cycling, including the top Quebecers. Thousands of visitors from here and abroad will attend this sports and tourism event.
The layout of the route lets spectators watch the pack pass through the cliff-lined Mount Royal site and experience a spectacular race. As for the Tour du Grand Montréal, its five stages will be held on the Island of Montréal and on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River from June 2 to 5, with a route that is just as thrilling.
The Government of Québec is proud to be associated with these major sporting events, which confirm the important place of Greater Montréal on the international cycling scene.
We hope the public will turn out en masse for these fascinating competitions.
